Roman Reigns has the cover boy WWE for quite some time now. He has become one of the big guns in the WWE and is definitely a crowd favorite. Reigns enjoy a huge popularity and fan base across the globe. His appearance in the main events and weekly shows is evident. He is on his way to create a legacy which has never been created. He has destroyed his opponents, which includes the likes of the Viper, Randy Orton, and the beast, Brock Lesnar. He defeated Triple-H in a title match at the Wrestlemania 32, to be crowned as the WWE champion.
Absence of Roman Reigns
Currently, he has his feud going on with the monster among men Braun Strowman. Last week, he appeared at a house show reciprocate the brutal knockdown he suffered at the hands of Braun Strowman. This feud between these two is generating huge popularity among the fans. But according to reports, Roman Reigns will not be present at any house events of WWE this week and neither in the live events. WWE has not advertised Reigns in any of their events this week. It is clear from the tickets that Reigns will not be present at the events, as there is clearly no mention of Reigns in the ticket.
Roman Reigns will not be appearing at the events because of the death of his brother Matt Anoa’i. Matt is famous in the wrestling universe as ‘Rosey’ of 3-Minute Warning and his team with Shane ‘The Hurricane’ Helms. It really came as a shocker to the fans hearing the news of this death.
Despite the death of his brother Rosey, reigns is expected to appear on Monday night RAW. The build-up to his match with Strowman is still not sufficient and will require some more indulgence from both stars to complete the story. The story is in accordance with the match between the two which is expected to be booked at WWE main event Payback. Although Reigns is not advertised for this week’s live events, he is advertised for RAW. It’s a clear indicator that, both Reigns and Strowman will have some sort of interaction in their build up to the story.
Previously, Roman Reigns has been absent only thrice from the WWE events.
In 2014, he suffered a hernia injury which kept him out for few episodes until TLC 2014.
In 2016, the second incident was due to a broken nose which he suffered at the hands of Triple-H in the build-up to their for their championship match at Wrestlemania 32. Triple-H constantly targeted his nose which caused a deviated septum, which resulted in his absence from the television.
Again in 2016, he disappeared from the WWE events due to the violation of WWE policies. He was suspended after the Money in the bank match and returned only 2 days before Battleground pay-per-view.
The WWE is likely to honor the late Rosey and remind the wrestling universe of his immense contributions. He was a part of the attitude era of WWE and has contributed a lot to the success of WWE. May the big man rest in peace and our condolences are with him. Roman Reigns return is highly anticipated, as the Big dog is a huge crowd puller. It would be exciting to see, how the build-up of a brutal match at Paymatch between Reigns and Strowman pans out.
