1. Reutlingen, Germany
According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the narrowest alley is said to have been found in Germany. This is a short alley which measures about 3.8 meters in length. The width of this ally is 40 centimeters on an average and 31 centimeters at the narrowest point. Now can you imagine what would happen if a fat person walks into the street accidentally? We might have to call for the construction workers to break the walls down! Phew! Jokes apart, if you even try to imagine walking down the narrow alley yourself, you will experience the kind of excitement that you have never experienced before and enjoyed the time of your life to the fullest!
2. Exeter, England
The Guinness Book of World Records was once held by the Parliament Street located in Exeter, England. The Parliament Street is a little wider than the alley we had just spoken of, but, nevertheless, this street too is so narrow that you would have to stick to the wall and pass if someone just walks into the street from the other direction. The Parliament Street has a length of 50 meters. The average width of this road is 1.2 meters and the narrowest part measures only 64 centimeters! Thus, you can jolly well imagine how interesting it must be to walk this 50 meter at top speed and without a hindrance on a bright sunny morning and tell the entire world the major feat that you have eventually conquered!
3. Victoria, Canada
Canada houses the third narrowest street in the world. This street is named as the Fan Tan Alley and is the connector between the Fisgard Avenue and the Pandora Avenue. This is the narrowest street in the whole of Canada and it has a remarkable width of only 89 centimeters at the narrowest position! Once upon a time, this street was the entrance to a hidden world of gambling and drugs. However, at present, because of the popularity of the Fan Tan Alley, this street has become a safe tourist destination and is visited by inquisitive minds all the year round.
Thus, it is evident that no matter how big the world is, it is actually small enough to easily bump into a person accidentally. These narrow streets are a heritage that speaks of many untold stories that they have withstood right since their creation. Thus, a visit to these heritage sites is a must for all travelers who want to experience the sheer joy of life.
