Google is making searching much smarter and easier. It added a lot of features that may not show a difference visually, but refining and revamping the search you use daily. The tech giant is now interlinking all its apps at one place to make it easier. In the process of doing this, it introduced a new feature called Personal Tab.
The Persona tab is a new tab in the Google Search that can be accessed whenever need. When the personal tab is used, Google matches the search result to your data from Google Calendar, Google Photos and Gmail and shows the result related to it.
Using it is very easy and can be done follows:
- Search something on the Google Search (Browser on your PC)
- Below the search bar, there are multiple tabs like News, Images, Videos and More
- Click More and you can see "Personal" option
- Click Personal and you can view all the stuff related to the search
If you are in doubt regarding your privacy, there is nothing to fear. The results in the Personal Tab shown is purely viewable only by you. Google also displays a message on the top left to assure this saying "only you can see these results."
This addition of Personal Tab will save you a lot more time to go through your stuff from multiple apps and services. This is similar to the "events" tab added to the Google app on mobiles which will show all the upcoming events and reminders in a separate window.
But sadly, the addition is not yet available to all the devices. At present, the Personal tab can be only seen on Google Search in your browser on your PC. The update may come to Google app soon but it is not yet confirmed.
The Verge reported that,
The Personal tab works similarly to the way the existing Maps, News, or Images tabs work - instead of showing you a search for links, it just takes the entered search terms and shows you results from your Google accounts instead. The Personal tab doesn't show up by default - you'll have to click through to the "More" option; it'll be on the bottom,
The tab is available to both mobile and computer versions of Google Search. Even though the tab is absent in the app on your mobile, the search on your smartphone is already smarter which links the results to the apps on your mobile.
This addition will benefit everyone for a quick search and to tally the results with their own stuff. If you haven't tried it until now, sign in to your account and try searching across.
