Photography is the best way to capture memories. Smartphones enable people to take pictures anywhere and anytime. But can we print pictures on the go too? Yes, thanks to Prynt's new case for smartphones called Prynt Pocket. The case in addition to printing on the go will also allow you to see pictures in Augmented Reality (AR). Sadly, it is only available for few phones.
Photos That Move
Prynt is not new to this domain. It already released an AR photo viewer and this time they made it more flexible and compact. Here is how Prynt Pocket works:
- Setup the Prynt Pocket first by charging with the micro USB given
- Then add paper (given) to the Prynt case
- Click the button given and slide the phone in
- Click shutter button given to take pictures
- Then, the photo is printed
- If you want AR picture, then select video and capture the moment
- Remove the photo and when seen with your phone, the video plays
This here is some futuristic feature. Seeing moving images on paper takes us back to the harry potter movies again. There is not need for an ink refill as the Prynt Pocket uses thermal vision technology and due to this, the ink resides in the paper itself.
Prynt Pocket is a huge step up (in terms of portability) and a huge step down (positively as it is much smaller). But this cool technology does not come cheap. The Prynt Pockets costs around $149.99. The older version of Prynt costs around 15,499 INR on Amazon right now in discount while the original price is 25,000 INR.
Here are the phones that Prynt Pocket is available:
- iPhone 7
- iPhone 7 Plus
- iPhone SE
- iPhone 6S
- iPhone 6 Plus
- iPhone 5S
- iPhone 5
The Android model will be available soon maybe at the end of this year. The Prynt Pocket is available in three colors:
- Mint Green
AR photography though may not become mainstream, the technology is sure a lot of fun to play with. The case as it can be taken everywhere can make photography a lot more fun and moments more memorable. If you are willing to buy this one, you can get them early here at a discount of course.
