Marriage is a choice and not a compulsion. Hence, it is important to choose the partner with whom you would like to spend the rest of your life.
The world is adorned with cultural differences when it comes to wedding ceremonies. Sometimes, the parents and the members of the family choose the partner for their children at the eligible age for marriage whereas, sometimes, the couple in love makes their families meet. It does not really matter how the couple comes together in unison, rather, what matters is how long their relationship lasts.
In the case of arranged marriages, the bride and the groom are more like strangers. After their marriage, it cannot be said with assurance that they will fall in love. However, the chances are quite high that they will develop feelings for each other as they gradually make each others’ acquaintance and get to discover each others’ likes and dislikes.
On the other hand, in the case of a love marriage, the couple is free to talk as they already know each other and they have higher chances of making the relationship thrive. However, it has to be kept in mind that the couple has got higher expectations too which often leads to quarrels and misunderstandings that end up in a divorce in the extreme cases.
Thus, it is wrong to judge the success of a marriage through the way the couple comes in unison. The level of maturity, the impeccable love for each other and, the unbreakable vows of trust and loyalty are the keys to a successful marriage that lasts for a lifetime.
Thus, instead of worrying about whether a love marriage is better than an arranged marriage, the concern should be restricted towards the qualities that manifest and making a marriage successful.
1) Love and Respect
Love is the most important feeling in a relationship. If you cannot love your spouse, you would obviously not enjoy living with him or her either. Also, it is important to be respectful towards your partner even if you have differences so that your relationship strengthens.
2) Trust and Loyalty
It is essential to be devoted to your partner naturally rather than being forced to be loyal. With devotion, a sense of loyalty and trust would automatically build up.
3) Compliment and Criticism
You must compliment your spouse whenever you get an opportunity because that is exactly what he or she works heard for. Nobody is perfect and, hence, you cannot expect your spouse to be like the perfect prince or princess that you have read about in fiction. So, you must embrace the good and abstain from criticism, especially at the public place. Rather, talk about the negativities at home in privacy in a polite and loving manner.
Hence, it can definitely be perceived that being in love and being happily married does not depend on how the couple is united. What is more important is how much they understand each other and develop a positive dependency that binds time in an unbreakable bond.
